Introduction and Terms of Reference
This group has two parallel objectives. One is to
address the issues of personal identity which go to the heart of
electronic commerce, e-government and e-security. The other is
to promote constructive debates and guidance on the interlocking
issues of data sharing, retention and protection in the context of
pressures for joined-up government and records, the regulation of
investigatory powers and concerns over privacy.
